Google TV from Sony – New Innovation Way of True Entertainment

SAN FRANCISCO - Starting Saturday (10/16/2010), Sony will begin selling a new LCD television that is featured with Google TV service to access video services and web-based broadcast. LCD television that is ranging from 24 until 46 inches is showed in New York,  USA, on Tuesday (10/12/2010).

As we know, television that is combined with Internet service is not new. However, this LCD television from Sony is special because it is combined with Google's special services that are designed to bring the Internet in the living room just like TV broadcast.

Google TV has been equipped with CPU (central processing unit) with an Intel Atom processor and work with the Android operating system. To access the website, there is Google Chrome as a web browser. The other softwares are designed to access television programs on the internet, broadcast schedule, even the content of satellite broadcasts.

"Finally, you can easily find your favorite television program and website on the same screen, and at the same time," said Mike Abary, a senior vice president of home division of Sony Corp.



Keyboard Google TV, Blu-ray Disc Player


The price of this LCD televisions are more expensive, between 200-400 U.S. dollars if it is compared with standard LCD television. However, the package of the products have been added with a special wireless QWERTY keyboard to navigate the Google TV, to type on the screen, or perform various commands. On that occasion, Sony also introduced their new Blu-ray Disc Player for $ 400 U.S. dollars.

Logitech Revue, set top box with Google TV

Google TV is a new innovation that is launched by Google by cooperating with Sony and Logitech International SA. If you do not want to buy the new LCD of Google TV, there is a product that is called set top box that is launched by Logitech to install the Google TV service to your standard TV.
